Dell Venue 8 7000 World’s Thinnest Android Tablet in India at Rs 34999
Dell has launched a new high-end tablet, named Venue 8 7000, in the Indian market. At 6.1mm, it is the thinnest tablet in the world, along with iPad Air 2 and Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. Dell launched what it calls the “world’s thinnest” tablet and expanded its India range of products. The company aims to push higher personal computer (PC) adoption in the country. The PC-maker expanded its XPS, Alienware, Inspiron and tablet series with the launch of the XPS 13, Alienware 15 and 17, Dell Inspiron 5000 laptops and the Venue 8.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 features a 8.4 inch screen with 2560 x 1600 QHD OLED infinity edge-to-edge display. Looking at the physical features of the tablet, it measures 215.9 x 124.2 x 6.1 millimetres, and weighs approximately 305 grams
Venue 8 7000 is powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat) operating system, and will soon be upgraded to Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It packs 16GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards of up to 512GB capacity; Dell is offering users 20GB of free Dropbox storage with this tablet as well.
The tablet has a 3-camera setup with Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth camera that is capable of capturing a depth map for every picture taken. Connectivity suite of the tablet consists of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0. Dell claims that the tablet lasts up to 9.8 hours on a single charge.
