Micromax YU Yuphoria with Snapdragon 410 launched at Rs 6,999
After the success of Micromax YU Yureka, the sub-brands YU on Tuesday has launched the second Cynogen OD-powered smartphone, named, Yuphoria. The Yu Yuphoria has been priced at Rs. 6,999 and, like the Yu Yureka, it will be exclusively available via Amazon India. The pre-booking on Amazon.in starting on May 12 begin starting 5pm IST Tuesday.
The Yu Yuphoria features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) TFT IPS display and sports third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The Yuphoria runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.
It runs Cyanogen OS 12, a custom aftermarket version of Android 5.0 Lollipop developed by Cyanogen. Cyanogen is known for its customisability, enhanced performance and additional features. The look and feel is very close to stock Android barring a few UI elements, although customization is possible via themes.

The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. It features 16GB of built-in storage. The dual-SIM based Yuphoria supports 4G and features accelerometer, ambient, proximity, gyroscope, and e-compass. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 lens and LED flash. while also featuring a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim phone supports 3G, 4G (CAT 4, including TDD-LTE, Indian 4G bands), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It comes with a 2230mAh high-density quick charge battery which the company claims delivers 160 hours of standby time.
Featuring a metal frame, the phone will be available in buffed steel and champagne gold colours. The phone comes with a Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo DCA audio chip for enhanced sound and will cost around Rs. 6,999.
