Lyf Flame 7 & Wind 7 Android Smartphones With VoLTE Support Launched

Reliance Jio has expanded its Lyf series of smartphones with the addition of two new handsets. Dubbed as Lyf Flame 7 and Wind 7, both the devices are listed on the company's official website. Like all previously-launched Lyf series smartphones, these two also come with 4G VoLTE support. The Lyf Flame 7 is priced at Rs. 3,499 while the Lyf Wind 7 is priced at Rs. 6,999. We can expect the smartphones to be available via offline stores such as Reliance Digital and Digital Xpress.

Similar to the entire Lyf-series of smartphones, the Lyf Flame 7 and Wind 7 smartphones support 4G LTE bands in India - FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz). Both handsets also support VoLTE (voice over LTE) with HD voice call compatibility.


The dual-SIM (regular SIM + Micro-SIM) Lyf Flame 7 features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) IPS LCD display with Asahi Dragontrail Glass and 218ppi pixel density. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The Flame 7 smartphone supports 4G on one SIM at a time. The smartphone is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830A processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage. It sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. The smartphone supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB apart from 4G (LTE Cat 4 support). The handset measures 126x64x10.8mm and weighs 113 grams. The Lyf Flame 7 is backed by a 1750mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 4.5 hours of talk time and up to 175 hours of standby time.

The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM) supporting Lyf Wind 7 smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 294ppi and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The company says both SIM slots are 4G enabled; though, at one time only one SIM can use 4G while the other will work on 2G. The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It packs 16GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Some of the camera features on the Lyf Wind 7 include face detection and smile detection modes. Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB, apart from 4G (LTE Cat. 4).

Measuring 143.5x72x8.7mm, the Lyf Wind 7 weighs 156 grams. It packs a 2250mAh battery rated to deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 180 hours of standby time on 4G network. It will be available in Black, Blue, and White colours.

The company will now also offer all its smartphone customers extended warranty of 24 months. To avail the same, users need to register via the company's LyfCare app.
