Are you stuck in a business rut? You’re not the only one. Business productivity is the bane of many companies, and trying to find the right methods to keep your staff working tirelessly is a headache that we have all had at one time or another. In the world of smartphones, the app is king. But are there any apps that you can use in business? Pokemon Go won’t cut it here! Have a look at these to see if any will suit your company.

Worklife:
In the mobile app development game you need to find a way to collaborate with your fellow employees to find a suitable solution, much like in business. This app is useful for team leaders who are trying to encourage that collaboration more in meetings. You can use a meeting organizer to sync up to your Google Calendar, and you can attribute specific points to those that attended. It is free if you only need to use it on occasion. Otherwise, there is a fee.

Genee:
This app finds appropriate times for meetings. It does this by looking at the diaries of those that are attending. As a result it is much less of a hassle than waiting for emails to come back confirming people’s availability. Instead, you just copy this into your text or email, and then the app does it for you. The app is free in Beta mode.

Mindmeister:
A brainstorming app like this is great for idea generation. You use the app to access a blank canvas through the Cloud, and whatever ideas come up can be documented. As it is via the Cloud, collaborators do not have to be there in person, so it takes the pressure off to come up with new ideas in the room. One of the features of the app is “change history” which shows the process on how your final mind map was created, and so you can trace it back to the original ideas.

Evernote:
If you need to keep track of many different one to one sessions, this is one app to use. The “stack” function lets you keep a notebook of each staff member. Inside each staff member notebook, you can create unlimited documents to attach to that notebook, like objectives, notes, feedback, additional training and so on. The tagging function lets you find notebooks from specific dates or ones that used a certain project code word.

Team Meeting Timer:
It doesn’t need a lot of explaining. While there are so many people that tend to overrun during the course of a meeting, it can be frustrating if you don’t have enough time to get your point across. This app assigns an amount of time to each speaker or minute entered, and the timer begins! As well as this, the app gives you advice on keeping meetings efficient, and also agenda and minute templates.

As you can see, there are many apps for business. Give one of these a go and see what it does for you.

Thanks to Alicia for the updates.

Cheers!!!
