The Old WhatsApp Text Status Is Coming Back as "TagLine".
Some days that WhatsApp has pushed new feature as Status for all its user. Nothing to explain much but this was the same feature as Snapchat or Instagram, where you are able to put your status as an image, GIF or video for temporary of 24 hours. Many users hated it, including me. It was definately an un-necessary update that was of no use. No one knew why it was done.
Many users hated it and wanted the old status function back. Well, it looks like WhatsApp is listening to the users now and is reportedly bringing back the old Status feature that allowed users to set up a text message as their status in their users profiles. However, now the feature -- once it is back -- will be called Tagline.
Some screenshots shared by Twitter user WABetaInfo, who has previously provided several correct leaks regarding WhatsApp, indicate that WhatsApp might bring the old text statuses back with a new feature to the app called 'Tagline'. With the leaked Tagline feature, just like before, users appear to be able put up a message with text and emojis on their profile.
WhatsApp's new Status feature has so far divided users. Many see it as an unnecessary complication that will turn their chat into a social media app. Many other, meanwhile, like the feature but lament the loss of old Status feature and removal of Contacts tab from the main navigation bar.
The Tagline feature has been spotted by WABetaInfo on the beta version 2.17.6.21 on iPhone, and beta version 2.17.82 on Windows Phone. The tipster has also said that Tagline feature will also make its way to Android. Importantly, the feature is hidden as of now and there is a possibility that it might or might not make it to the app eventually.
Along with this new feature, the seecurity and privacy concerns will also chage something like below, as said by @WABetaInfo:
Cheers!!!

Many users were left disappointed as their WhatsApp text statuses got replaced, the Tagline feature will be a welcome addition to the app. However, it might have been simpler for the company to just leave text statuses in their old form and introduce the new Stories-like status feature with a new name. Anyways, atleast now some love stories will again start and can have happy endings. The previous old status feature was there to inform something to someone. This 'something' can be anything. But still it was for a good reason and should remain like the same.WhatsApp for iOS 2.17.6.21: new Tagline privacy settings.
