BSNL Now Offering 3G Mobile Data at Rs 36 Per GB

The competitors are planning how to deal with Reliance Jio and their plans. Many established telecos are coming up with different plans and they are trying to give more benefit in less cost. To counter this threat state-run telecom firm BSNL today slashed 3G mobile internet rates by about three-fourths, bringing down the cost of per GB data to as low as Rs 36 under a special pack.

"Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to offer up to four times extra data on existing data STVs (special tariff vouchers) available in the market," BSNL said in a statement.


Reportedly, BSNL slashed the 3G mobile internet rates by about more than 50 per cent.  In this offer, the BSNL is offering four times more data, with which a customer will now get 8GB for 28 days at Rs. 291, which earlier offered only 2GB data. Furthermore, BSNL is also offering 2GB data for Rs. 78 plan. This plan of BSNL has set a benchmark of offering the cheapest data plan as compared to other networks who offers 1GB of data at Rs. 50.

Reliance Jio is offering free 4G service till March 31, 2017, in this plan, customers is getting 1 GB of 4G data everyday and after consumption of 1GB, the speed gets reduced respectively. Other private operators have brought down the cost of per GB data to as low as Rs 50.
With such a tough competition persisting in the market, BSNL continues to dominate the fixed-line broadband services. Currently, the company has 9.95 million customers and is at fifth position in mobile broadband space. The company has 20.39 million subscribers currently. Surely with such an intense competition, customers are getting privileged services and have resulted in more consumers using internet.
