HTC U Ultra India launch set for February 21
HTC will launch its first U-series smartphone, aka the U Ultra, in India on February 21. The HTC U Ultra, which was launched along-side another smartphone called the U Play in January, is a high-end phone with high-end specs. The invite -- sent out to the media -- clearly mentions the U Ultra meaning the flagship phone will be one of the phones to be launched at HTC's press conference. Whether or not it will launch the U Play as well is something only time will tell.
The HTC U Ultra features a 5.7-inch QHD display with a smaller secondary display, similar to the one used on the LG V20. The device sports a metal and glass build and comes with an AI-powered assistant called HTC Sense Companion. The company claims that the assistant will learn user behavior and deliver prioritized notifications on the secondary display.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC with 4GB of RAM. At the back is a 12MP UltraPixel camera, like the one found on the HTC 10, while at the front is a 16MP camera. The device also comes with a new audio technology called U-Sonic. The company says that this technology allows the device to deliver true sound based on the user’s listening behavior.
The device is available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants and it isn’t yet known if HTC will launch one or both these variants in India. The launch price of the HTC U Ultra in the country is not yet known, but in the UK, prices for the device start at £649, which is roughly Rs. 54,100.
Cheers!!!
