Download YouTube videos using Safari

In our previous blog we learned about How to download any videos for free using FireFox Mozilla. But many times it does happens that you are not using Firefox or you are not allowed to use FireFox in office or is restricted at your business area. For that Safari is always the best option. It is developed by Apple and can be freely downloaded here. Some softwares fails to track the browsing history of Safari. So it is useful (atleast at my workplace :)).

Lets come to actual point. Using Safari you can download any YouTube videos.
Follow the steps below to do so:

1. Go to and download ClickToPlugin Safari Extension.

2. The extension will download this file in some few minutes.

3. After the download has completed, open the ClickToPlugin extension which will prompt you to install it in Safari. Choose to open and install the extension.

4. After installing, go to Safari Preferences and choose Extension tab. You will see that it has been installed.

5. Then check the box which states "Click this check box to access the settings". you will see a list of HTML5 conversion scripts listed for various popular video sites like below.

6. Now go to YouTube.com and play any video. You will find it somewhat different that it was before.

7. When the video starts to play, right click on the video and you will find the option "Download Video". I will download the video in the .mp4  format.
