Launching new Xbox 720 (Features, Release Date & Price)

The dream of every Gamer!!!

It’s been 7 years since Xbox 360 was released and it has given us the gaming experience that we can never forget. Fans across the globe are wondering when the next Xbox will be brought out as technology has rose to an occasion where a lot more can happen than Xbox 360. The Xbox 720 is possibly the next Xbox from Microsoft, and rumors are circulating everywhere around the web about this new gaming console. So, we have zeroed in every rumour to bring you what’s new in the Xbox 720. This new console is going to take us to a whole new level in gaming.

New Xbox 720 Features & Specs:

  • Xbox 720 Graphics Processing Power
The new console will include variations of AMD’s 6000 series GPUs, that means the new Xbox will still be at least two generations behind the latest PC GPUs (with the AMD 8000 series soon to release). But if confirmed would also mean the Xbox 720 would include a graphics processor that’s up to six times more powerful than the current Xbox 360 GPU.

If the Xbox 720 does indeed get equipped with an AMD 6000 series GPU, that would also include support for DirectX 11, multi-display functionality and of course high-definition 3D content.
  • Xbox 720 Will No Longer Support Second Hand Games
The Xbox 720 is an implementation of unique security features that prevents playback of second hand game titles. While this information has in no way been confirmed by Microsoft, it’s certainly plausible that such a feature could be implemented in the Xbox 720, it would also mean gamers would only have the option to purchase games brand new.

  • Xbox 720 Will Run the Latest Version of Windows

It’s no secret that Microsoft is keen on adding multi-functional and cross platform support – they’ve been especially fond of such features ever since the release of Windows 7.

Microsoft will port Windows 8 (or the latest Windows version) to the new Xbox 720 thus offering cross platform support for use with Windows Phone devices, Windows based computers and subsequent Microsoft Windows platforms like future portable tablets.
  • Xbox 720 Future Disc Format
The Xbox 720 will include Blu-Ray disc support, or may even integrate Blu-Ray disc support into its game releases – but again, there has been no official confirmation.

There’s even been an expressed desire for the return of HD-DVD’s.

It is definitely true that Microsoft will be looking into alternate media formats especially if they decide to drop second hand game support. The possibility even exists that Microsoft will drop external media support altogether, going with a download-only marketing plan.
  • Xbox 720 Storage Support
Few latest games take at least 4Gb of storage space, which is no small amount. Games that use higher definition textures and graphics would take even more storage space like what we’re currently seeing on modern PCs (12Gb+). If a need for more storage space arises there will be no possible solution other than to include local storage options, which would ultimately result in larger hard-drives being bundled with the Xbox 720.

The currently updated Xbox 360 was given cloud storage features for use with active Xbox Live gold accounts, if the local storage was full which allows users to access saved games and stored data via any console that has internet access. In the Xbox 720 we can expect the same cloud storage support.
  • Xbox 720 Game Controller
The Xbox 720 will likely include integrated Kinect support or support for a similar external device but there is still a need (and high demand) for physical game controllers.

The Xbox 720 controller would most likely follow suit with the current Xbox theme, ultimately meaning the future controllers would look and function in the same manner as the Xbox 360′s. It’s possible that Microsoft would change the form and function slightly, but adopting a completely new controller design could enrage fans.

So basically, Microsoft will probably use a similar controller design with new functions built in like media playback buttons, a unique Xbox Kinect launcher or something similar.
  • New Xbox 720 Release Date
The release date rumors for the Xbox 720 are all over the place, there are current hints at a 2012 unveil compounded by other statements that claim no unveil will take place this year.

If the Xbox 720 does get a 2012 unveil, it would mean the console would likely be released late 2013 or early 2014.

But Microsoft has previously given the Xbox 360 an estimated ten year life span, and considering the console was released in 2005 it could very well be sometime in 2015 before we see a successor.

Let’s hope we don’t have to wait until 2015 for the Xbox 720, but you never know…
  • New Xbox 720 Pricing Plans
Bloggers from around the world are quoting different price tags for the next Xbox day by day. We are clearly not sure about the cost of this next gaming console. We may have to assume that Xbox 720 will cost the same as Xbox 360 as for now.

Also many of this features can be rumour. So what we can do is only Wait and Watch for the launch of Xbox720.
