Known & Unknown Custom ROMs For Android Smartphone
Rooting Android phone is one of the best way to change the way your phone looks. You can also say that you are customizing your phone the way you want. We call it ROMs. Custom ROMs offer better features and also added features which are not available in core Android and also gives much better experience if you want more customization options. Using this ROMs you can customize your phone with wallpapers, theme, customs ROM and more. If you search online you will get list of sites which helps you in customizing your Android phone.
So this post belongs to all the ROMs. I will be listing down some of the ROMs that you can use on your Android phone.
Important:
CyanogenMod is one of the most popular ROMs for Android and currently running on millions of Android devices worldwide and it supports a very broad range of smartphones and tablets. The stable releases based on the most recent version of Android available are being released on a regular basis, so you can update your ROM frequently with new features. CyanogenMod Inc. is now a company, so it makes perfect sense that it's on the wave of tech with their CyanogenMod 11, derived from Android 4.4 KitKat.

OmniROM is a great up-and-coming team of developers, and already, their list of supported devices for their latest, Android 4.4 KitKat-derived update, is impressive. That's not at all surprising, seeing as there are quite a few ex-CyanogenMod developers on the team. The OmniROM team has a pretty brave view: nightlies should offer the same kind of stability as a ROM that has been tagged for release.

3. SlimBean:
Slim Bean is a ROM compiled and built from scratch, right from the AOSP code. It also incorporates all the important customised features from CyanogenMod, AOKP and CNd. This includes minor features like User Agent Switcher and Quiet Hours to mute notification sounds, profiles, performance tweaks, etc. What makes it different from other ROMs is that is basically the slimmer version of the stock android ROM. The ROM is packed with in built set up profiles, theme engine, and much more.

4. CarbonRom:
It is a new ROM that is of course an aftermarket firmware based on Android 4.2.2 from AOSP. Some of the features included in CarbonRom are: PIE, Unofficial Voodoo sound support, lock screen options, Chronus Clock widget (from CyanogenMod), customizable hardware and software keys, and much more.

MIUI is yet another ROM packed with tons of cool features and it also includes a virus scanner, an anti-spam tool, data usage counter, back-up manager, and a service allowing one to find their lost device. MIUI started with the aim to combine Apple’s iOS features with android features and it has successfully done that. There is also support for themes which allows users to customize their home screen, lock screen etc.

Android Open Kang Project, AOKP for this ROM which was started in 2011 with ice Cream Sandwich as its base. The AOKP has hundreds of features. Performance tweaks, customizable LED notifications, and much more abilities of this ROM makes it stand aside from other ROMs. AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.

8. Paranoid:
Paranoid Android features the so-called Hybrid mode which allows the users to scale every app, widget, or a system component on the device. You can choose a mode for every element without even having to adjust the system’s DPI setting. This is the first ROM to be based on android 4.2.2 JellyBean Source. The ROM includes Tons of additional features that another ROM does not offers. A few features are like pie, Changing Colors according to Apps(best for personalization), WE can set DPI according to Apps, 3 different user interfaces ( tablet/phablet/phone UI) That’s not it this ROM has much more to give one can use this ROM and unveal its other features too.
The list of supported devices includes Nexus S, Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus(Maguro, Toro, and Toroplus), Galaxy S3 (i9300, d2tmo), ASUS Transformer TF700T.
9. Liquid Smooth:
Liquid Smooth is yet another custom ROM which is working on the Kitkat version of its ROM. There are quite a lot of customization features including support for themes. You can also customize the software and hardware buttons and the status bar to your liking. The banner feature of Liquid is that it's probably one of the fastest ICS ROMs available, faster even than the stock install that comes on the Galaxy Nexus.

10. Avtar ROM:
Avatar ROM can be customized using one of the many themes made for it, available for download from the project's page. That's possible as the ROM features the highly customizable Bazooka launcher, which is an extended version of Trebuchet. You're free to make your own theme as well by following the tutorials available online.

11. Vanilla Root Box:
Most of us are really unaware of this ROM. The infamous ROM is built from a few sources like CM, AOKP, and Paranoid Android. The ROM also includes features like Per app DPI, Per app Tablet UI, OTA updates which makes the ROM stand no behind the other ROMs.
The list of supported devices includes Galaxy Nexus (maguro only), Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Galaxy Note 2 (N7100, L900, i605), Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100, I9100G), Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300, I747, T999, I535)
There also some more ROMs, which I am not aware of. But i thought of sharing those with you too:
I. WanamLite
WanamLite is a Samsung ROM based on the JellyBean update, which offers better battery life and removes all the bloat, whilst providing customisations like call recording, 15 toggle buttons on the notification screen, and most importantly, a lower OS footprint, with the ROM taking up much less space in internal memory as well as RAM. In short, if you want better battery life, more free RAM, and an overall snappy experience with a de-bloated Samsung-based ROM, WanamLite is for you.
II. UltimaROM
UltimaROM offers the standard Aroma Installer with multiple options, and a bloatware remover. It comes with everything themed in blue, even the default Google Apps like Play Store, YouTube and Gmail.
III. The Omega ROM series
Omega ROM is also one of the popular ROMs developed by Indie, and is based on Samsung firmware. It offers built-in features like BusyBox, init.d support, Aroma installer, and Google Apps from Android 4.2 on ROM Android version 4.1.2. As usual, it also adds a lot of mods and tweaks after removing the bloatware.
IV. JellyBam
JellyBam is one of those ROMs that offers you the best of all features. It mixes everything from AOKP, CyanogenMod and ParanoidAndroid to offer you everything in one single ROM. It also comes with many performance enhancements, along with many mods, and YouTube HD support.
V. FoxHound
FoxHound is a Samsung ROM specific to the Galaxy S3, which is based on the latest stable Jelly Bean sources. It offers you the latest and best, along with proprietary features like pop-up play, smart stay, etc. Also, as opposed to AOSP ROMs Bluetooth, NFC, TV-Out, Dock, etc, work flawlessly. However, its most important feature is the Aroma installer, which provides installation options like what you see while installing an operating system on your computer, where you can choose each and every component and application that you want to install on your ROM. You have the freedom to choose from different launchers, kernels, mods, keyboards, themes, etc.
VI. P.A.C. True All in 1 ROM:
This is an all in one ROM that gathers and collaborates the best features of CyanogenMod 10.1, AOKP, and Paranoid Android very generously. The ROM is very good at Gaming and gas a scope of betterment in the interface as it frequently gets updated. The awesome ROM is not available f0r many devices bu t we have listed a few devices which have the capability t o be flashed by this ROM.
VII. Euroskank:
The ROM is very similar to CynogenMod but has very much new and different features on over it. Most of the areas in the ROM are from the stock android but a few places are just better than CynogenMod. The ROM is good for Gaming and is very smooth at performance.The ROM is not very famous and is available for a few devices only. The following is the list o the Devices which can be flashed with Euroskank.
VIII. CodefireX ROM:
The CodefireX ROM is another very high at performance and smooth at using. The ROM has a plenty of features from the CynogenMod, Well CynogenMod has just became the ancestor of all the newly developed ROMs don’t know why developers these days are not coming with something new other than just amending the old features and embedding them into their ROMs.
IX. Xylon:
The Xylon is another custom ROM that is built off of AOSP, that actually means that the ROM is based on stock ROM with a few features added over it. Basically the features of FNV, CM, AOKP, Team BAKED, and Paranoid Android make up to be Xylon ROM. Unfortunately he ROM is not so universal and is only available on the Google Nexus 4.
