Asus ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, and ZenFone Selfie Launched in India
Taiwanese smartphone giant Asus has launched three new variants of its Zenfone 2 smartphone at its ZenFestival event in New Delhi - Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone Selfie and Zenfone 2 Laser. All four phones are based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, come with 4G LTE support, and feature dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) dual standby support.
Zenfone 2 Delux:
The Zenfone 2 Deluxe is essentially the top-end variant of the Zenfone 2 with a premium back cover made of premium polygonal design in white, blue and red colours. The design features over 500 tessellated triangles that give its back a diamond-pattern effect. Zenfone 2 Deluxe sports a 5.5-inch Full HD and a (1080x1920p) IPS display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle. The display has a narrow 3.3mm bezel, giving the phone a 72% screen-to-body ratio, and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe is powered by a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor Z3580 and has 4GB RAM. According to the company, the phone's 60ms touch response time ensures lag-free input, and OpenGL 3.0 provides enhanced gaming performance. The Zenfone 2 Deluxe sports a 13MP PixelMaster camera with an f/2.0 wide-aperture lens, and a 'real tone' flash for warm skin tones and accurate colour, as per the company's claims. It is also equipped with a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide, 85-degree field of view for taking selfies.
The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with a new version of Asus ZenUI — which has a fully-customizable interface. Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes with a high-capacity, 3000mAh battery that provides more than a full day of use on a single charge as per the company. ZenFone 2 Deluxe has built-in 4G/LTE connectivity for faster data speeds of up to 150Mbit/s in addition to 802.11ac Wi-Fi high-speed Wi-Fi. The Dual-Sim smartphone will come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants.
ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE550KL):
The ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE550KL) features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, comes with 16GB of built-in storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB), and 3000mAh battery. It also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
The ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE601KL) features a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display, is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC, comes with 16GB of built-in storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB), and 3000mAh battery. It also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Zenfone Selfie:
The Asus Zenfone Selfie is a dual-sim phone that runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with a new version of Asus ZenUI — which has a fully-customizable interface. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with 2GB and 3GB options in RAM.
The phone will come in internal storage variants of 16GB and 32GB, and users who want extra storage can install microSD cards of up to 64GB. This model has a 5.5-inch (1080x1920p) LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, rear-positioned volume rocker and a curved body for comfortable grip similar to the Zenfone 2.
Competing with HTC Desire Eye, Asus Zenfone Selfie comes with rear and front cameras of 13MP resolution, both with Toshiba sensor, laser autofocus and dual-LED (dual-tone) flash. The front facing camera has 88-degree wide angle to cover more area and click group selfies. Zenfone Selfie features an optional swing attachment to adjust selfie angle or to act as a kickstand. It has a 3000mAh battery. The phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS.
