Yu YuPix Compact Printer for Android, iOS Launched at Rs, 6,999
Micromax is trying their luck in every technical area one can think of. After successfully launching smartphone and Televisions along with many accessories and fitness band, now Micromax is stepping into printing section with the launch of first portable photo printer called YuPix. The portable compact printer will be available to purchase from Amazon India starting Monday at Rs. 6,999.
YuPix lets you print pictures instantaneously from your phone. As per the company's claim, YUPIX, has an image quality (IQ) score of 175, and converts your digitally captured memories into 2.1x3.4-inch printed photos in 60 seconds. It’s dimensions are 2.99 x 6.01 x 0.94 inches and it weighs 273gms.
The printer's image transfer speed is 10 times faster than Bluetooth due to a Wi-Fi/NFC/Wi-Fi Direct enabled connection compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones, it said. The printer has a resolution of 291 dpi and supports 16.7 million colours.
Compatible with both Android and iOS devices, the printer is said to feature a 'unique' cartridge which does not require a cleaning roll and has an integrated ink ribbon and photo paper. It can print up to 10 continuous copies. The device is also claimed to be water and fingerprint resistant.
It's backed by a 750 mAh battery. The compact printer can print photos in 2.1 x 3.4-inch size with a printing resolution of 291 dpi. The device is said to use Dye Sublimation technology to print photos. Measuring 2.99 x 6.01 x 0.94 inch, the YuPix weighs 273 grams and is backed by a 750 mAh battery. Connectivity options supported by YUPIX pocket printer are NFC/WiFi Direct/Wifi and users will need to download the app from the Google Play or iOS to take the pics.
The YUPIX app also lets users edit photos. YU also says that YUPIX comes with a unique cartridge which does not require a cleaning roll and has Ink Ribbon and Photo Paper integrated into it.
Only the question arrives that, in the digital age, where everything can be stored in a form of soft copy, why someone will use this device to store hard copies? Also, the size 2.1 x 3.4 inch is very less and can hardly be used anywhere. But still there is good and positive hope to which this device will the market well.
If in cases cartridges are empty then refills are also available separately but the pricing of the cartridge is not available yet.
