Play Counter Strike On Your Android Smartphone Without Rooting
You must be knowing Counter Strike. Ofcourse, you must be knowing it. In-fact everyone must be knowing what Counter Strike is. Its one of the most first-person shooter of all time. What originally started out as a third-party Half-Life mod garnered such a cult following that Valve had to hire the developers and purchase the intellectual property to make it an official standalone release.
The game has been so popular that its available for desktop version but the Android version was never released. Though there are many games available in the Play Store which claims that its a Counter Strike but none of them matches it. But thanks for developer Alibek Omarov, who created a game engine emulator and counter strike launcher that allows you play Counter Strike on Android smartphone.
Thanks to GitHUB and Wonderhowto to bring this up.
Requirements:
You will first need to two apps into your Android device. Open the page from the following link and scroll down to download the .apk files.
Note: One thing to note is that there are two versions of the CS16Client app—one with "noomp" at the end of the file name, and the other with an "omp" suffix. The noomp version is for multi-core Android devices, and the omp version is for single-core phones and tablets, so be sure to grab the right one for your device.
Once the apk files are downloaded, install them.
2. Copy Game Files from PC to Android Device:
Now go to your Steam folder and copy the game files. If you are not aware where and which files to find, go to the following path:
3. Create a folder named Xash on your Android Device:
After copying the files, disconnect your phone from PC and open your file browser app. Now go to your phone's main internal storage partition (/storage/emulated/0/), then create a new folder named xash - making sure to only use lowercase letters.
4. Move the Game Files to the xash Folder:
Now cut the two folder that you pasted in your phone (cstrike and valve) and paste it in the xash folder that you created in the above step.
5. Play Conter Strike:
Launch the CS16Client app and leave all the option as it is and press the "Launch" button.
I have not personally installed it on my phone yet, but as mentioned by Wonderhowto game itself runs great on Android, and the core multiplayer modes are all supported. However, the online version is running on a small private server hosted by the developer, which can occasionally have some issues.
You might find the controls a bit sloppy so you can connect a controller to your Android device. Let me know your experience for the same and also let me know if you need any help in installing it.
