Best Smartphones Under Rs 15,000 {May 2016}

Trying to buy a new smartphone? Then you have to choose between varieties of smartphone. No matter what your preferences are, you will still have to 4 to 5 smartphone to choose between. Every company is trying their best to make their customer happy by providing more features in less price. But the competition is more and huge. If a ratio is considered, you will get 1 smartphone every 2 days from various company. This makes the buyer more confuse to decide which one to buy.

If you see, people buy new smartphone and then they want another smartphone in less than a year. The reason is they get more feature in the newly launched smartphone than compared to their in the same price. So most of the people are still not trying to get a high end flagship smartphone that costs more than 25 to 30 thousands. But there are some who even goes for iPhone which is more costlier. The normal and the minimum budget that some people look for Rs 10,000 to 15,000.


So i tried to collect some good featured smartphone that costs below the range of Rs 15,000. The phone are not in priorities but definitely you can go for some.

1. Moto G4 Plus:
Motorola launched the fourth generation of Moto G smartphone in India this month. Priced at Rs 13,499 the Moto G4 Plus is the first handset of the company to sport a fingerprint sensor. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 1.5GH Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor.

The Moto G4 Plus offers 3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB internal memory. The handset runs on Android Marshmallow and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.

2. Gionee marathon M5 Lite:
The display is a crisp 5-inch HD IPS panel, and it uses Dragontrail glass for added strength. Marathon M5 which consist of a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage. This is good considering the price difference between the two phones. Other features are similar as well, including Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, FM radio, Miracast and GPS. There's a slightly smaller 4000mAh battery.

The Marathon M5 Lite uses Android 5.1 Lollipop with Gionee's Amigo 3.1 skin running on top. In terms of camera it has 8MP rear and 5MP front camera. Consists of 32 GB internal storage and expandable upto 124GB. Price around Rs 13000.

3. Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016):
Samsung launched the Galaxy J5 (2016) smartphone in India at Rs 13,990. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has a 5.2-inch HD display.

The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM (expandable up to 128GB). It has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front Shooter and is backed by a 3,100 mAh battery.

4. Lenovo ZUK Z1:
Lenovo introduced its ZUK sub-brand in India this month with the launch of ZUK Z1 smartphone. The handset is priced at Rs 13,499 and has a 5.5-inch HD display with metal frame body.

It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB on-board storage. The smartphone has a 13MP rear, 8MP front camera and packs a 4,100 mAh battery.

5. Moto G Turbo:
The Moto G Turbo is a blend of commendable performance thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, a waterproof body and the assurance that it will get the latest Android update earlier than any other branded smartphone in the market (except Nexus of course). The rest of the specifications are similar to the Moto G (3rd gen) which is still a good phone. Moreover, The recent price drop makes the Moto G Turbo an attractive proposition.

6. Honor 5X:
The Honor 5X is the successor to the previous Honor 4X smartphone. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel with Full HD resolution which offers good viewing angles. Powered by the relatively new Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC, the phone boasts a reliable performance. There is little to complain about the build and design as it has a metal unibody build with nice clean design and it also boasts a very good rear camera, thanks to the Sony Sensor. The 3000mAh battery also does a decent job and is able to last a day’s worth of usage easily.

7. Lenovo Vibe K4 Note:
This year Lenovo launched the successor to the K3 Note conveniently calling it the Vibe K4 Note. One can certainly see the design reference taken from Motorola phones, with its slightly curved back. The performance is handled by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC which is able to handle almost all tasks with ease. The performance is further enhanced by the 3GB RAM which is able to provide better multi tasking. The phone features a 16GB internal storage and can be further expanded via a microSD card. There is a 13MP camera at the rear and the phone does feature a fingerprint sensor at the back.

8. Xiaomi Mi4i:
Xiaomi Mi 4i is still one of the most good looking phones in this price category regardless of its plastic body. The phone sports a beautiful 5-inch 1080p display which is still the best display on a phone under the budget of Rs. 15,000. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, the Mi 4i is able to churn out a decent performance. Initially it did encountered some heating issues but they have been resolved via software patches. Moreover, the phone still has one of the best rear camera and battery life in the price category.

9. LeEco Le 1S:
Another phone which caught everyone’s attention is the Le 1s from Le Eco. Powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 SoC, the Le 1S is easily one of the most powerful phones currently available under the budget of Rs. 15,000. There is 3GB of RAM and an ample storage of 32GB. The phone is further complimented by its clean candy bar design and metal unibody. The 5.5-inch FHD display is good and the rear 13MP shooter takes fairly decent images. The only thing the phone lacks is a good battery life, which is not at par to the good performance.

10. Coolpad Note 3 Plus:
Coolpad launched the Note 3 Plus at Rs 8,999 in the Indian market. The smartphone is the upgraded version of the last year’s Note 3. It sports a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz Mediatek octa-core processor.

It offers 3GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The Coolpad Note 3 Plus has a fingerprint sensor and 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) and a 5MP front-facing snapper.

11. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3:
The Dula SIM Xiaomi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1 having display of 1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.5 inches. The phone runs on Snapdragon 650 quad-core 1.4 GHz (A53) & Dual-core 1.8GHz (A72), Adreno 510. It consists of 16/32 GB option expandable memory and 2/3 GB option RAM.

In terms of camera, it has 16MP camera and 5MP front camera. The phone runs on 4000mAh battery and weighs only 164gm.

12. One Plus X:
The OnePlus X flaunts a 5-inch AMOLED multi-touch display with a full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi and it is only 130g in weight. The phone costs Rs 12,999.

The OnePlus X has been powered by a Snapdragon 810 quad-core processor clocked at 2GHz with the CPU is a powerful 3GB RAM. The device runs on Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop). The OnePlus X is armed with a 13MP autofocus camera at the back and 8MP snapper at the front. It houses an internal memory of 16GB which is further expandable up to 128GB. The OnePlus X draws energy from a 2,450mAh non-removable battery.

13. Oppo F1:
The Oppo F1 exhibits a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels that results in a pixel density of 294 ppi. The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processors with 3GB RAM and Adreno 405 graphics. The phone price a cost of Rs 15,000.

The F1 is stacked with a 13MP primary camera and an impressive 8MP front camera. It houses an inbuilt memory of 16GB which can further be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone derives its energy from a 2,500mAh li-ion battery which is non-removable.

14. Moto G Turbo:
Running on Android 5.1 and having display of 720 x 1280 pixels is a 5.0 inch smartphone. The phone runs on Snapdragon 615 – quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and an Adreno 405 GPU. The phone costs of Rs 12,500

Having rear camera of 13MP and front camera of 5MP. Consists of Dual SIM and running on battery power of 2470mHz and weighs 155gm.
