Get ‘Open With’ Option In Windows 10 Right-Click Context Menu

Though Windows 10 has been widely used and is well known for the performance their's still issues with the OS. Not particularly for issues but lacks some of the features which were available in the last versions. One of such feature that lacks is the "Open With" option. This option appears when you right-click on the file. The option is a very important one as it allows users to select an app to open the file with. For unidentified files, or files that a default program has not been associated with, this option is the fastest and at times only way to set a default program.

But now you are able to active this feature on Windows 10 OS too. All it requires is a small registry knowledge. If if you don't have a knowledge of registry its ok, but still try this on your own risk or take help from someone who knows how to work on registry.

Follow the steps below:
1. Search window by pressing Win + R button, type 'regedit' and press Enter button.

2. Go to location,
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
3. Create a new key from File -> New -> Key and name it as "Open With'.
Note: If the key already exists proceed to nex step.

4. In the newly created or existing key, there should be a 'Default' string value. Enter the below value into it;
{09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936}
5. Click on the Ok button.

That's it. It hardly takes a minute to do all this and you will be provided with the option you need.
Note: If you still dont see the option, consider ending and restarting the Explorer.exe process.

Hope this helps you. If you still persist this problem, just write in the comment section will try to help you for the same.

Cheers!!!
