Best Waterproof Smartphones Available

We all are very much use to smartphones. We feel like in every 5-6 month we should have new smartphone. The reason behind this is that every week we see new smartphones with great features, some of them lacks in our smartphones. Currently, the smartphones giving more protections are in use. Smartphones which can bear rain or dust or any kind of shock when it falls down.


Many times the problem that occurs in a smartphone is when the phone falls in water or gets wet in the rain. But to overcome all such problems, smartphones companies are trying their best to give such phones which are all protected. Following are such phones which are waterproof:

1. Sony Xperia Z:

The Smartphone is a IP55 and IP57 certified making it water and dust resistant. The device features a full glass exterior which is 7.9 mm thin. The Smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It has a 5 inch HD display screen along with a 13 mega pixel rear camera and a 3.2 megapixel front camera. The Smartphone also boasts of battery life which is 2330 mAh and the internal storage capacity of the phone can expand up to 16 GB.


2. Motorola Defy Plus:

This handset comes with a 3.7-inch display which is water and scratch resistant. Besides, it is dust proof as well. Otherwise too it has very good specifications including a 1 GHz processor, Android 2.3 operating system, a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 1650 mAh battery. Motorola Defy Plus also has 32 GB of expandable memory along with 2 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, Bluetooth, micro USB and other common Android features.



3. Sony Xperia Go:

The device can be submerged under water for up to 10 minutes without its insides getting damaged. Xperia Go comes with a wet finger tracking system that allows it to be used in extreme weather conditions as well. Xperia Go features a 3.5-inch reality display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution and a four point sensitive touch input system. Sony Xperia Go comes with a 5 megapixel main camera but misses out on a front camera; so no video calling. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor along with 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB onboard memory for smooth operation.


4. Motorola Razr Maxx:

At more than Rs 30,000, this is the costliest phone in the list. Like the others, it also provides protection from water and dust. It has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory along with a slot for expandable memory of 32 GB, and Android 2.3, which is upgradeable to Android ICS. Motorola Razr Maxx comes with a 4.3-inch screen and has an 8 megapixel rear camera along with a 1.3 megapixel front camera, 3300 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc.


5. HTC Butterfly:

HTC’s one flagship which was recently launched, HTC Butterfly. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1. This is the most costliest smartphone ever in the Indian market. Furthermore, a 5 inch full LCD display packed with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, makes it water resistant. of course, you would get two cameras with it. A rear camera is of 8 Megapixel and a front facing camera is of 2.1 Megapixel. 16 GB of memory storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB by using a microSD card. HTC Butterfly is covered by a plastic material in all the edges of it and makes its design ever more better.


6. Samsung Galaxy XCover 2:

The device can be immersed in water up to a depth of 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes. It comes with a 4 inch display of 480 x 800 pixel which is also scratch resistant. Just like Sony Xperia Go, Samsung also made its new Smartphone with hardware keys on the front as it would be difficult for the user to use the touch screen when wet. The device is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor and runs on Android ICS.  It has a RAM of 512 MB and a 4GB internal storage capacity.


7. Lenovo A660:

Lenovo launched its first waterproof Smartphone in 2012, just after it introduced its flagship IdeaPhone K860. It was highly concentrated towards China. The phone can withstand immersion in water up to a depth of 1 meter. Powered by a 1 GHz dual processor, the phone runs on Android 4.0 ICS. The device sports a 4 inch WVGA corning glass display with a 5 mega pixel rear and a VGA front camera. The Smartphone has a battery of 1500 mAh and 10.55 mm thin.


8. Huawei Ascend D2:

Huawei Ascend D2, a large 5″ model powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Another big selling point here is a huge 3,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the power units found in many of today’s rival “superphones.” The Huawei Ascend D2 is also a member of the 1080p club, with its display outputting at 1080 x 1920 resolution, it comes with a 13megapixel camera, is 4G ready and has a slab of Gorilla Glass on the front for toughness – plus IP certification for water and dust proofing.


9. Kyocera Hydro:

The Kyocera Hydro is a Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and waterproof capabilities. Although it doesn't have a front-facing camera, the Hydro has a 3.2-megapixel camera on the back with accompanying LED flash.The Kyocera Hydro can be sprayed with water and submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, respectively. A lock keeps the Hydro's backplate secured. Because the Hydro's 3.5mm headphone jack is waterproof, it doesn't require a cover. The Hydro's Micro-USB port, however, needs to be sealed with an attached door. The Kyocera Hydro refreshingly runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, without a different UI skin on top.


10 Panasonic-ELUGA:

On top is a brace of rubber-edged covers hiding microSIM and microUSB slots (the casing doesn't come off) along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. At just 7.8mm deep it's exceptionally slim, and lightweight too at 103g. The long and thin 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen offers a resolution of 960x540 pixels and offers bright, vibrant colours and sharp edges, even on very small text. IPowered by dual-core 1GHz processor from Texas Instruments backed by 1GB of RAM. It can withstand a depth of one metre for up to 30 minutes, and certainly, running it under our tap and dipping it in the sink for a minute or two didn't seem to do it any harm.

11. Xperia Tablet Z:

Xperia Tablet Z features a 10.1” Full HD 1920x1200p Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It runs on a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.5 GHz asynchronous quad-core CPU and 2 GB RAM. It is tested to make sure it could stand up to water and dust. The high IP55 & IP57 rating means it’s unaffected by 30 minutes under water and can even withstand water jets.
