Samsung Galaxy Tab 3: Specification & Review
“It’s another one!”
So are exclaims going abuzz in the market about Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. This South Korean mobile manufacturer seems to be in a spree to release all sorts of smart phones, tablets, phablets in all the ranges.
Samsung has already released Galaxy 7.7, Galaxy 8 and Galaxy 10.1 but looks not satisfied with these and thereby released Galaxy Note 3 with 7” screen but awfully low on screen resolution. Market analysts are saying that Samsung is trying to give some kind of competition to Google Nexus 7 which was highly successful in the 7” tablet category. It is also presumed that the Korean mobile giant wants make Apple Mini to run for its revenues. Also, it is heard that Samsung is preying on Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9. On whole, Samsung is hell bent on pushing a killer product in the small screen tablet segment which has become a battleground for many giants like Google, Apple, Amazon etc.
But all said and done, with the release of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 in April, 2013 mobile lovers are left to exclamations like “Once again! Yet another!”
Features & Specifications:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 features and specifications are standard as that of any best small screen tablet but unique in certain ways.
Galaxy Tab 3 comes with 7” TFT screen having resolution of 1024x600 which appallingly low and does not stand in comparison with other competitors. Google’s Nexus 7 comes with 1280x800p and Apple Mini comes with 1024x768p resolution. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a good resolution of 1280x800. So, it has to be watched out for the market reaction on pretty low resolution of Galaxy Tab 3. But there is one solace to the users that Galaxy Tab 3 can play Full HD videos.
Hardware specs are satisfactory with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and loaded with 4.1 Jelly Bean Android OS. Battery looks good at 4,000 mAh and there is a microSD card slot on the board and with extendable memory up to 64GB. Galaxy Tab 3 is available in two varieties based on the storage capacities i.e. 8GB and 16GB. Galaxy Tab 3 too has the iconic S-Pen of Samsung and supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, LTE and HSPA+ connectivity.
Galaxy Tab 3 features a 3MP main camera at the rear side and 1.3MP sensor at the front. With 9.9mm thickness it is not only sleek but light as well (weighs 302 grams only). Its body case is made of plastic (a standard feature of all Samsung smart phones/tablets) with a silver rim around the edges.
Price:
Samsung’s intentions in releasing Galaxy Tab 3 are to grab the chunk of price-conscious tablet users.
Galaxy Tab 3’s cost in Indian market ranges from INR 16,600 to INR 13,500. Price would vary from city to city and so are the taxes. The price indicated here is the net price of the handset. Low prices can be availed from online purchases. Whereas Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is priced around US $149.
