Root Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Using CF-Root

The time when i was having Moto Razr V3i, i was so excited in modding it. It required many software to support and many other files. But later i started come to know that many of the phones can be rooted. it was a java based phone. Then the era of Android came. Many of them started rooting it. And it has become so easy that you can root your smartphone in just a click.

Samsung recently came up with new smartphone named Samsung Note 3. This is one of the popular device and people love to root such phones. The developers almost start to race on who will be rooting it first and then upload it on the Internet. Galaxy Note 3 can certainly be considered one of the top devices available out there right now, and i think you must be dying to try your hands on it. To let you know XDA-Developers Elite Recognized Developer Chainfire has tried-and-tested CF-Auto-Root. This process follows rooting of your Galaxy Note 3 using CF-Auto-Root.

For those who don't know what is CF-Root: CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.

Important:
Using this root method sets current binary and system status to custom. Additionally, it will also trigger the KNOX warranty void status.
This device store the traditional flash counter. Nor is is possible with Triangle Away to reset the current binary status. You will need to flash a stock kernel and stock recovery to reset the binary status.
The KNOX warranty status change is permanent, and a service center may deny warranty based on this flag - even if the other flags are reset correctly. The KNOX flag being tripped may also prevent certain Samsung KNOX features from working (enterprise security features). If this is something you care about, use a root method not based on custom kernels or recoveries, like a modified system partition. These are possible, but I don't personally make them, so look around!

So please follow this guide at your own risk. MyBookOfKnowledge will not be liable if your device gets damaged or bricked during the process, or you permanently lose access to KNOX features.

Requirements:
  • CF-Auto-Root zip file for your phone (see instructions below for choosing the right one).
  • Galaxy Note 3 running stock official firmware
  • Windows PC with the latest Samsung USB drivers installed
Procedure:
  • Go to Settings -> About device -> Model number on your device and based on that info, download the appropriate CF-Auto-Root zip file from the link provided above.
  • Extract the contents of the downloaded file to a folder on your computer.
  • Launch Odin using its EXE file (not the INI file) from the extracted files.
  • In Odin, click PDA and select the CF-Auto-Root file (the one with tar.md5 extension). Leave everything else exactly as it is, especially confirming that the Repartition option is NOT enabled.
  • Now power off your phone and boot it into download mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down, Home and Power keys together. Follow any further on-screen instructions when prompted to get into download mode.
  • Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC via USB and wait for any drivers to get configured. One of the indicator areas of Odin on the top-left should light up in a color, indicating the phone is successfully connected and ready for installation via Odin.
  • Click Start in Odin, and wait patiently till the process finishes.
