Intex Aqua Qwerty Touch-and-Type Smartphone Launched @ 4,990 INR

Intex Mobiles launched its first touch-and-type smartphone, the Aqua Qwerty. The handset combines a touch-sensitive screen and a user-friendly typing QWERT interface, aimed at offering users more choices in the way they use their smartphones, Intex said in a statement. The smartphone comes with a 3.5 HVGA touch screen display and the handset is targeted for consumers who find a physical keypad more easier to type and navigate. The Aqua Qwerty is a 3G-enabled dual-SIM phone priced at Rs 4,990.

Talking of the features, the phone has a 3.5-inch HVGA (480×320 pixels) touch display and a QWERTY keypad placed below the display. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card. The phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

Connectivity options include 3G (HSPA) support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Aqua Qwerty runs on 1500 mAh battery. Currently, Nokia has a few Asha devices with similar form factor. So this can be a good competition for both the companies.
