Run Any Application On Windows Without Installing It
We install many applications on our PC. We install it because we need it. But there are some applications which are not used daily or on time to time basis. It doesn't means that you will uninstall it and then install it gain later, as needed. This is not what are some of the appliations meant for. But what if you get a way using which you can run any application without actually installing. This types of applications are known "Portable Applications". This are applications that you can use without installing it or you can even carry them into your USB drive and can use it later. The applications which allows this to happens is 'Zero Install'.
Zero Install is a decentralized cross-platform software-installation system available under the LGPL. It allows software developers to publish programs directly from their own web-sites, while supporting features familiar from centralized distribution repositories such as shared libraries, automatic updates and digital signatures.
Since, it is a portable version, it can be available for all three OS. Lets see how this works:
1. Download and install the Zero Install on your PC.
2. Once you complete the installation, you can see an instructional video showing all the functions and features of the application.
3. After completing it, go to the “Catalog” section on the homepage, there you can see some of the sample applications to try without installing it.
4. To run an application in the Catalog section, click the “+” icon in the right side. The app will be added to “My Applications” menu.
5. Just click the “Run” button over there, the app will be immediately launched.
This application uses very less space so that you can run any number of applications without installing it using Zero Install. To add the app you want, click the “More Applications” button at the bottom of the window. It will open a new window, where you have three options to copy and paste the download links
