Nokia X2 Android Smartphone Announced
Nokia launched the Nokia X smartphone in February this year. Along with X, Nokia also bought its high end siblings Nokia X+ and Nokia XL. All the smartphone did well in the smartphone market. This time Nokia came up with its next version Nokia X2. Nokia is still continuing with Android even after being taken over by Microsoft.
The X2 features a “stylish exterior” that uses the same kind of translucent outer layer as the Nokia Lumia 620. The X2 also has two buttons at the front of the phone, instead of the single back button found on earlier Nokia X devices. Nokia X2 very much like its older sibling is based on Android OS, though it is not the version which is visually identifiable.
Nokia X2 software platform is basically Android Open Source Platform (AOSP), while its user interface resembles Window Mobile tile based architecture. Thus giving us a hybrid OS which mixes up the tile based UI from Widows mobile and user friendly features from Android.
Talking about the specs, Nokia X2 is a Dual Sim support phone which has gone ahead with a 4.3 inch ClearBlack LCD WVGA screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels (217 ppi). X2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 1 GB of RAM.
Talking about the camera, it features a 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a front facing VGA (0.3 mega pixel) camera. It has 4 GB of internal storage which can be scaled up to 32 GB by installing a microSD card. You also get 7 GB of free cloud storage on Microsoft OneDrive.
Nokia X2 comes with a 1,800 mAh battery and as per Nokia’s official website can deliver a standby time of up to 23 days, maximum talk time of up to 10 hours on 2G network and maximum talk time of up to 13 hours on 3G network. It is a dual SIM device which only supports micro SIM’s and features dual SIM dual standby functionality.
Apart from all the specs above, Microsoft is giving some of its services and app with X2, like One Note, Here Maps, One Drive, Skype, Bing and many more.
Nokia X2 is available in selected countries in glossy green, orange and black, glossy yellow, white and matt dark grey colour, at a price of €99 (about $135) before taxes.
Cheers!!!
