WhatsApp Started Rolling Out Voice Calling Feature for Android Users
Some days back WhatsApp had launched the Voice Calling feature on iOS. At that time, it was revealed that it will be launched soon on Android, but no specific date was mentioned. Latest reports reveal that after testing its new voice-calling feature, WhatsApp has finally started rolling it out to some of its Android users. Some of the users have were able to use the voice calling feature and started receiving the call from friends who had activated the service on their Android smartphone.
Though the feature is not yet available to all users, which might be the reason that its still under some testing process. This time you won't be just getting it by just updating it, though its one of the step. In order to get the feature activated on your phone, Android users must first update their app to the latest version. Once updated, they need to find a user who already has the feature activated and ask them to call you. This will activate the voice calling feature on your WhatsApp, granting you the access to invite other friends on your contact list to do the same.
Once activated, you will be able to call on Android and Blackberry users. The feature is not available yet on the iPhone although WhatsApp's recent iOS update had introduced a calling button within the chat window. The feature also doesn't work on Windows Phone handsets, at the moment.
Talking about the interface, will reveal the detail about it once i get the update for voice calling. This can put in competition between other apps like, WeChat, Viber and Line to make calls and send messages.
Cheers!!!
