Xiaomi launches India-first smartphone Mi 4i at Rs 12,999
Xiaomi has unveiled its new smartphone, Mi 4i, at an event in India. It's the first time the company has hosted a global launch event outside its home market, China. Xiaomi at its Global Mi Phone Premiere event in New Delhi on Thursday launched the Xiaomi Mi 4i priced at Rs. 12,999, as we exclusively reported. It will be available in Black, White, Orange, Light Blue, and Pink colours.
The smartphone will be made available in its first flash sale on April 30 on Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store, Airtel Store and the official Xiaomi India website and will also be sold at Mi.com. The registrations will start at 8pm on Thursday.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i features a unibody polycarbonate body, and has a soft touch matte finish with an anti-grease coating. Xiaomi Mi 4i sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) IPS display. Powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of DDR3 RAM, the phone comes with 16GB storage.
The phone has a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone flash and a 5MP front camera. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with MIUI 6 software skin running on top. MIUI 6 is now available in 6 Indian languages and supports Visual IVR.
Mi 4i has a 3,120mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim (micro) phone supports 3G, 4G (both Indian bands), Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi (including 802.11ac and MU-MIMO) and GPS. Both sim slots support 4G, 3G and 2G.
