Reliance Jio Dongle 2 with USB Port Launched for Rs 1,999
Reliance Jio is something that everyone is talking and why shouldn't they do that. The 4G plan that it is offering are one of the best plans which have made every service provider to think about. After launching the likes of JioFi 2, and JioFi 4G, the company has quietly launched a new Wi-Fi Hotspot that comes with a USB port. Called Jio Dongle 2, it is available at the same price as the JioFi 2 and JioFi 4G — Rs 1,999. While the availability is not clear, we expect the Jio Dongle 2 to be soon at the Reliance Digital and Reliance Digital Xpress mini stores.
Jio Dongle 2, like any other Wi-Fi dongle, features a USB port for users to connect to a PC or a power source. Unlike JioFi 2, it doesn't have a built-in battery source to work independently. The Jio Dongle 2 has an OLED display, which is likely to show basic information about the connection.
Chawla tweeted that the new device, the Jio Dongle 2, is now available in Reliance Digital stores along with Jio SIM cards and the JioFi, and like the JioFi, it allows you to connect to the Internet even without a 4G device.
The accessory in the box includes a wall power adapter for plugging in the dongle which like the earlier hotspot comes with a “Designed in India” labelling. The dongle also comes with two led lights showing the status for 4G and Wi-Fi functionality. Opening the rear panel of the dongle will reveal the micro-SIM slot wherein one needs to insert the Jio SIM.
It should be noted that the Jio Dongle 2 is useful mostly for those who carry old desktops and laptops which have no WiFi chips embedded. For most others, the JioFi 2 is a much better device, specially considering that they are priced similarly.
Cheers!!!
