Hide Disk Drives In Windows Explorer

We have always given prior security to our computer when it comes to hiding any personal data. We have already seen many post related to this. Today we will seeing something very similar. In our computer we have more than one drives partitioned. The first thing that comes in our mind is to use separate drives to storing separate data. One drive for movies other for personal data other for study, its all up to you. What if you want to hide any drive in the Windows Explorer. There are many other softwares that are available on the Internet which allows to hide the partioned drive or any other drive. Some of them are paid and some of them are not that useful.

I found this very interesting software which hides your drive in the Windows Explorer. No Drive Manager, is is a simple, free tool for hiding Windows logical drives by modifying the registry. The hidden drives are still accessible but they are not visible in the Windows Explorer.

How to hide drives which are accessible but hidden:

1. Download and install NoDrive manager from this link.

2. Once you installed the application, run it.

3. You will see a small window with list of drives from A to Z.

4. Just check the drive you want to hide. You can select more than one drive.

5. Then click on "Save Changes".

6. Restart you computer and you will see that your selected drive is no longer available in the Windows Explorer.
Note: you can also hide CD or DVD drives.

7. You can also protect this software using the password-protection feature.

Actually this application makes some changes in the registry, internally, to hide the drives. This drives can be accessible using the command prompt even when its hidden.

To unhide the drive:

1. Simple deselect the hidden drive and click on Save Changes.

I think its has a simple step to hide the drives when it comes to compare with other software's available.

This software's works on Windows XP, Windows XP x64 Edition, Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit), Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). Not yet tested for Windows Server 2003 & 2008.

Download NoDrive Manager

Cheers!!!
