Microsoft Windows 10 Announced!!!

Microsoft has announced the next version of Windows and it will be called Windows 10! As per Microsoft, this will be the most comprehensive platform, ever and it will deliver the right experience. This new platform also brings in One experience, One store, one way for applications to be discovered, purchased, and updated across all of these devices.

Windows 10 will be compatible with all the traditional management systems used as of today. With Windows 10, enterprise customers will be able to customize the store and the company says that there is an approach of separating corporate and personal data across all devices.

Since users were facing many issues related to Start Screen, this version of Windows will bring in the all new start menu which will have the traditional app icons similar from Windows 7 and also the metro apps from Windows 8. There is also a ME tile on the Start Menu, pinned apps and options to shutdown and restart. The new version of Windows will bring in the familiarity of Windows 7 together with the feature on Windows 8.

The best thing is that, you can customize the start screen by changing the size of the tiles on it. It also brings in the search on the start menu which includes results from the apps, start menu and also does web search. This is something taht everuone was missing in Windows 8.

Apart from these, the traditional Windows 7 Snap View works in Windows 10 with classic and universal apps. The taskbar has also gone in for a change. “Task view” is the new button on the taskbar and when you launch task view it shows all the apps that are currently open. There is also multiple desktops option available. You can switch between different desktops with multiple apps running in their own separate areas. This was previously available only with third party apps.

There’s a new “Snap Assist” UI at the side where you can grab apps from multiple desktops. Windows 10 will also feature new command prompt which comes with improved features.

Update: Windows 10 will be released towards mid 2015 after the BUILD conference, preview will be available tomorrow for laptops and desktops.
