Intex Aqua Fish Smartphone With Sailfish OS 2.0 Launched at Rs 5,499
Last year at MWC Shanghai, Intex had announced a partnership with Jolla to make its Sailfish OS smartphone dubbed Intex Aqua Fish. This was Jolla's first tie-up with a smartphone vendor in India for its Sailfish platform. Intex on Friday launched the Aqua Fish smartphone, said to be the first licenced Sailfish OS device in the world. Running Jolla's Sailfish 2.0 OS, the smartphone will initially be exclusively available via eBay India at Rs. 5,499. It will become available on Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal in the coming weeks.
The dual-SIM supporting Intex Aqua Fish sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution TFT display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon (unspecified) processor under-the-hood, clubbed with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. The latest Sailfish OS 2.0-based smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Also housed is 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Intex Aqua Fish supports 4G LTE connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Micro-USB 2.0. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery and will be available in Black and Orange colour variants. It weighs in at 150 grams, and measures 142.4x72x9.6mm.
Aqua Fish enables multitasking in the smartest way possible, with smooth switching of apps and also provides effortless swipe gestures with simple navigation. The handset is powered with a big 2500mAh battery which provides a talk-time of 6-7 hours along with a standby time of up to 20 days.
Tailored for the Indian market and all music lovers, the Aqua Fish comes with a pre-loaded super app Gaana Music in collaboration with Times Internet, India's biggest music house.
