Hide Network Name in Status bar on Moto X

Not all but many of the smartphone displays the name of the carrier on their top. This can bee seen when the notification bar is pulled down or is displayed on the top. In case of Moto X, the displays network name or carrier logo on the left side of the status bar. If the network name is longer, it occupies major part of your notification area leaving no space for notifications. However, Moto X provides an option to hide network name.

If your region does not require showing the network name on your phone’s screen, follow the simple guide given below.

Make sure that your phone is updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Recently, Motorola has started rolling out Android 4.4.4 for Moto X. If you have not updated yet, just go to Settings -> About Phone -> System updates and check for available update.
  • Once you have updated your Moto X to Android 4.4.4, open phone Settings -> Mobile network settings.
  • Uncheck the option ‘Show mobile network’. You’re done!
Note that, this method is also applicable to Moto G and Moto E, after updating to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Cheers!!!
