Reboot Your Android Smartphone in Safe Mode

When we face some problems on PC like disk sector or some virus we restart the PC to check it. Also many times the system files gets corrupted or one of the application is a malware that we are not able to uninstall then we try to reboot the PC in Safe mode. From their we can take care of this issues. But what about Android? What id Android smartphone faces the same issue? What is the options available? or Can the Android phone also be restarted in Safe Mode? The answer for the question is, Yes.

The best thing about restarting the Android smartphone in the Safe mode is that, it won’t load any third-party applications. By choosing to boot Android device into safe mode, you can actually troubleshoot your device. You can check and remove any mis-behaving apps from there and even you can cross-check if there is any battery issue or some crashes due to unknown apps.

How to boot Android smartphone in Safe Mode:

1. Hold down the physical Power button until you see the options, Power Off, Airplane Mode, Data Network Mode and Restart.
Note: This options may vary depending upon the phone. Above options are displayed for Samsung galaxy S4.

2. Long press the "Power Off" button till you see the 'Reboot to Safe Mode' option.

3. A dialog box asking you if you want to reboot to safe mode may pop up. Tap OK.
Note: If this method doesn't work, go for the alternate method.

4. When the phone reboots, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark at the bottom left of the screen, to let you know that you are in fact in safe mode.

Alternate Method:

1. Turn off your phone.

2. Once your phone is off, turn it on by pressing the power button.

3. As your phone is booting, hold down both the volume up and volume down buttons (yes, both) and keep them held.

4. Once your phone has booted, you should see a “Safe Mode” watermark at the bottom left of the screen, to let you know that you are in fact in safe mode.

Note: If the alternate method also doesn't work, you can try holding down menu instead of volume up and down while booting.

In safe mode, you’ll have access to only those apps which came with your device. Other than that, third-party apps will be disabled and any widgets that you have added to Home screen will not be present there.

If you have the problems like crashes, freezing, battery problems or any bad performances in normal boot and not in Safe boot, then probably the third-party apps are the culprits. You can uninstall any apps directly from the safe boot mode. Just navigate to settings, and locate the app to uninstall and tap the Uninstall button.

If you are still facing some problem in the phone ,the last option that you have is to "Factory Reset". But make sure you take proper backup of your phone.

Cheers!!!
