Apple iPhone 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy S3: Spec, Feature & Review
Apple iPhone 5 has been launched and will be available in the market form 21st September. Some days back we also seen a post regarding Motorola Atrix HD vs Samsung Galaxy S3. But as the technology is growing so fast that every new phone has something to give. M using Moto Defy since year now when i want to buy phone, i am so much confused to buy any one of them. Then there is new option to buy, tablet phones. m still thinking what to buy, mobile or tablet. Also in that which phone and which tablet. My current preference will be either Moto Atrix HD or Samsung tab 2. Will write soon for Samsung tab 2. But today we are talking about iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3.
One of my reader asked me that weather iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 are same in feature wise? Yes, some of the feature are same but some are not. Therefore to clear this things m writing this post so that you wont get more confuse when choosing between this two phones. Following are the comparison between this two phone.
iPhone 5 Vs Samsung Galaxy S3:
You know the relation between Android & Apple. Samsung Galaxy S3 has already made his place in the top 10 phone list. But many of the eyes were on the iPhone 5. Many rumors were spreaded about the phone. But i managed to put the best and the real of iPhone 5 in my post. You can review the features & specification of iPhone 5 here.
iPhone 5 Design Vs Samsumg Galaxy S3 Design:
This time iPhone 5 has concentrated more on stretching the screen. Due to which they have reduced the thickness by 18% as 7.6mm. It’s also 20 percent lighter at 112g. Whereas, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is just millimetre thicker than the iPhone 5 and weighs 21g more. Also the screen is a inch longer diagonally.
By size iPhone 5 is similar to iPhone4 & 4S but is smaller than S3. But talking about the body, its all-glass back has been given a metal centre (on the black model it’s totally of anodised aluminium & on the white model it’s raw aluminium). As the screen is stretched now its has 5 rows of apps now which are smaller in size. The headphone jack has now been moved from the top to the bottom and the speakers are larger with better quality, as said by Apple.
If compared the above features, my points will definitely go to iPhone 5. The main reason will be the solid and the build quality. The polycarbonate body will not beat the iPhone solid body.
iPhone 5 OS/Power Vs Samsumg Galaxy S3 OS/Power:
As mentioned above in the comparison that iPhone is equipped with latest iOS 6. This has an improved Siri, FaceTime over 3G, Safari tab syncing over different devices and slicker Facebook integration. This time you wont be able to see Google's map instead Apple has its own with super zooming and 3D building and flyover mode and turn-turn-by navigation.
Whereas, Galaxy S3 has an updated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Yes, its not the newest version of the OS. Its also been said that the JellyBean will soon be available on S3 soon. Samsung has its own TouchWiz UI which is way better. After all its all your choice to choose from both the iOS depending upon your use.
The iPhone 5's ARM A6 chip keeps everything moving swiftly and smoothly. But Galaxy S3’s quad-core 1.4GHz processor provides slickest Android experience. Galaxy S3 has an NFC which is not in the iPhone 5.
If the built-in storage compared, both phones offer 16GB, 32GB and 64GB options (Galaxy S3’s microSD slot can be extended to 64GB).
iPhone 5 Camera Vs Samsumg Galaxy S3 Camera:
Both the phone provides 8 MP camera. iPhone 5 has a low light mode supporting for night snapping with new durable sapphire crystal lens. New image processor includes smart filter and reduces noise in image. iPhone 5 now supports panoramic mode and Share Photo Stream feature. The front facing camera is now capable of 720p video.
Galaxy S3 provides a burst mode using which you can take continuous shots at 6fps. It also has smile detection, blink detection, contrast and blurring. The camera also has 0 shutter lag along with improved shot to shot time. You can now set up rules based on groups, faces and location. Also provides a face-zoom. Has less optical zoom. The front camera is 1.9MP.
iPhone 5 Battery Vs Samsumg Galaxy S3 Battery:
The iPhone 5 has same battery as iPhone 4S. Therefore it will provide 8 hours of talk time on 3G or LTE and 10 hours of WiFi which is an extra hour more than 4S.
Galaxy S3 has an 2100mah battery which is much improved than S2. The battery is enough capable to handle all the apps that comes with S3.
Conclusion:
Its difficult to come to an conclusion for both the phone. The Galaxy S3 is powerful and well-equipped with the latest android version. Whereas, iPhone 5 gives a premium feel with its body. Yes but if compare to NFC, storage, screen size, Samsumg Galaxy S3 takes the price. But at the end your personal preference is all up to you. I don't know but my personal view i will definitely go for Samsung Galaxy S3. Its my own personal view.
