PlayStation 4: Specification & Price

After years of speculation, Sony officially unveiled its next-generation console during a PlayStation only event held in New York on February 20, 2013. At E3 2013, the PlayStation 4 Console Design was shown for the first time. PlayStation 4 will have no used game restrictions or restrictions on lending or renting. There is no online connection required for PlayStation games, in contrast to Xbox One's controversial policies on both topics.


A number of gaming developers have confirmed that they will be releasing games on both the PS4 and on current-generation consoles including Ubisoft who have confirmed both Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Watchdogs will be available on both.

DualShock 4 Controller:
The PlayStation 4's controller is called the DualShock 4 and is the most drastic redesign of the PlayStation controller since the introduction the DualShock. It features capacitive touch input like that of the PS Vita, improved SixAxis motion sensing, a brightly-colored "Light Bar" and at 7.4 ounces, the controller weighs less than an ounce more than the Dualshock 3 (6.74 ounces).


Share Button: The DualShock 4 features a share button that lets players record and upload videos and screenshots to the web.

TouchPad: Placed on the front of the controller, the capacitive type touchpad is a clickable 2-point touchpad with a resolution of 1920x900.

Light bar: The light bar on the controller is used to identify the player in the game. Player 1 is blue, player 2 is red, player 3 is green, and player 4 is pink.


Audio: The DualShock 4 features a built-in mono speaker and a headphone jack. There will also be a headset bundled into every console sold.

Battery: The DualShock 4 features a built in lithium-ion rechargeable battery which can charge while the console is in sleep mode.

Price:
PlayStation 4 has been priced at $399 which is very less when compared to the $499 price tag of the Xbox One, makes it an absolute winner in terms of price.
Recommended retail price: US $399, Canada $399, Europe €399, and UK £349.

Release Date: 
Sony PlayStation 4 would be launching on November 22nd after it revealed that its blockbuster game Watchdogs would be launching first on the next-generation console.
