Facebook's New "Reaction" Feature Launched WorldWide
Since many days, months and years we are expecting a 'dislike' button. It was heard that they will be available soon but it seems that we still need to wait for it. In a newly rolled out update, Facebook users around are about to see a lot more emotions in their News Feeds, as the social network announced the global launch of the Reactions extension to its like button via Android, iOS, desktop and mobile Web.
By popular demand, Facebook is going beyond the ubiquitous thumbs-up button with a new shorthand to express your thoughts and feelings. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed in a post on Wednesday that of the options now available for users to react to Facebook posts with, the new 'Love' option is the most popular.
Users can still respond to a post or comment with the traditional “like” button. But starting Wednesday, holding down the “like” button on mobile or hovering over the icon on desktop, gives users an expanded menu allowing them to choose from six different animated emoji “Reactions”: Like, Love, Haha, Wow Sad or Angry. “Reactions” are designed to be an extension of the “like” button as opposed to a full-on replacement. Users will be notified when their posts receive ”Reactions” in the same way they’re notified about “likes.”
Its obvious that you don't always like whatever is posted on the Facebook. Sometimes you might get sad or feel angry or loved it more than Like. So this all reactions will definately going to help users. "People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions," Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page.
But still I personally feel, 'Dislike' button is still required on the page. I can be like disliking something and then add your reaction to it. This will be something every user might be thinking of and will be happy for it.
Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in September the company was thinking of adding a "dislike" button, which spearheaded a debate over whether it would increase cyber bullying and negativity on the site. In October, the company said it would expand its signature "Like" button with various reactions.
