Skype For Windows 8
We all know Skype and it features. No need to explain it. But it plays an important role whenit comes to connect with friends and family. Recently the Skype virus has made it infected but now i guess they came up with it. Windows has recently announced the new verison of Skype but only for Windows 8. The app is made available in the Windows Store. Skype's latest version will also work on Microsoft's new Surface for Windows RT tablets — providing video and audio calling with messaging capabilities.
If you've previously linked your Microsoft and Skype accounts then it will automatically sign-in providing you're using the same Microsoft account for your Windows 8 machine. If you haven't linked them then Skype for Windows 8 will prompt you to do so. The interface is exactly what you'd expect from a Windows 8 style application. You can add contacts to the favorites screen, where they're displayed as large tiles, which is to say you can swipe from left to right to see different categories, such as recent activity, favorites and a complete contacts list. You're also presented with a list of recent conversations and calls to jump in and out of. One of the more confusing aspects to the UI is attempting to find the dialer for Skype, it's actually hidden as a call logo next to the logo which isn't immediately obvious. Just pinch your Live Tiles to zoom out and make them easier to navigate, you can use semantic zoom to sift through a long list of contacts. The app runs in the background on Windows 8, and will display a pop-up notification when you have new calls or incoming messages. Due to which you can be always available and reachable whether you are using a desktop, laptop, tablet or convertible PC with Skype running seamlessly in the background without draining your battery.
Another beautiful way to use Skype with Windows 8 is to snap Skype side-by-side with other Windows 8 apps. Snapping Skype allows you to browse the web, photos or use maps while chatting with friends or family. People app is one of the coolest new features of Windows 8, and have focused on making it work hand in hand with Skype. The People app is a modern take on the contact lists and address books of the past - but built for the way we all communicate today.
You can pin the most important people to the home screen so that a conversation is only ever a tap or a click away. Skype for Windows 8 will be available on October 26. You can find it on your new Windows 8 device and or download it from the Windows Store
Cheers!!!

Skype for Windows 8 also now includes an integrated dial pad for calling landlines, and shows the amount of Skype Credit you have remaining as well as your active subscriptions, if any. Recent calls display next to the dial pad, so you can easily phone your regular contacts again. As you use the app, you can also browse the web, look at photo, use maps and more while chatting, by taking advantage of Windows 8′s “snap” feature that lets you quickly place two applications side-by-side. Skype has also built in SMS support to allow you to text your contacts using Skype credit. While on a call, you can conduct video chats using the whole screen, during this time the chat message bubble will be shown on the side of the screen. At any time, you can swipe to see other recent activity. The People app brings all your personal and work contacts together, alive with their social activities and photos. Simply logging in to Skype and connecting your Skype account to the People app, will automatically add the Skype details of everyone you want to keep in touch with. You can even reach your contacts who aren't yet on Skype through calling their mobile or landline number if you have a phone number stored for them and a little Skype credit or a subscription.
