Business Cards With NFC Technology
Business cards has become a source of identity. We exchange business cards to let other know about yourself. Business cards mostly consists information like your name, your company name and logo, phone number, Address, email and any other things that you like. This let other people know your identity, what you do and where you live.
Some time back the business card making company MOO.com was offering free Facebook business cards to make your special identity as Facebook. Now they are putting an NFC chip inside their business cards. Now what is this NFC, Near field communication (NFC) is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimetres. Present and anticipated applications include contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as Wi-Fi. Communication is also possible between an NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag".
In simple words, NFC enabled Business Card is a regular Business Card, with a tiny microchip and antenna embedded inside the paper that can transmit data from itself to a mobile phone which is also NFC ready, when they are tapped together.
This is just at an experimental stage so they are giving away 150,000 cards so order your next set of MOO Business Cards quickly and feel free to experiment with your free card. They will also be releasing an app for Android which will allow you to update what your card does.
What could you do with NFC Business Card:
Updating:
There’s no reason that what your NFC card links to today, has to be the same as it was yesterday. You can update it as you go. It means that you will be able to update your NFC card anytime you want. Suppose you change your add or email or phone number or company or anything, that can be change or updated anytime.
Sharing:
You can share anything you want like music, your blog, movie, technology, yesterdays style, media, pictures, posts — anything and everything.
There's more like using map and lots more. Also this feature/technology will be available for all/some of the smartphones.
You get the list of phone on which the NFC can be enabled by clicking here.
This is one of the great example of technology.
Cheers!!!
