Save Internet Files Directly To Google Drive

We all are known to the features of Google Drive. It can be used as a special storage of files and other data on the cloud. What we use to do is to download some of the files from the Internet and then upload it to Google Drive. Google Drive provides 5GB of online space along with an access to few of the applications that provide an access to various contents directly on their systems including Windows, OS X or Android.

Keeping this into mind, the Google Drive Team has releases an extension for Google Chrome, Save to Google Drive". This extension allow you to save web content directly to Google Drive through a browser action or context menu. You can save links to documents, images, and HTML5 audio and video all by right clicking and selecting 'Save to Google Drive'. You can save the currently viewed page using the 'Save to Google Drive' browser action. The format of saved HTML pages can be controlled with the extension's options page (Choice of Entire image (default), Visible image, Raw HTML, MHTML, or Google Doc). You can automatically convert Microsoft Office files or comma separated files to Google docs format.

After your content is saved, the progress dialog allows you to open the file, rename, or view the file in the Google Drive document list. From the document list, you can organize and share your new document.

The Save to Google Drive Chrome extension helps you save web content to your Google Drive.
  • Adds a browser action to save the current page.
  • Adds a right-click context menu to save hyperlinks and media.
How does this works:

1. Open Google Chrome and install the extension, "Save to google Drive".

2. Restart your browser, if you don't see it on your Chrome browser.
Note: You are using this for the first time, so you will receive a notification that asks for the permission, so that you can use it. Accept/Allow it.

3. Now select any file or media file or any link containing some document. Then right click on it and select "Save to Google Drive".

Whenever you save any file to Google Drive, you will see a progress bar and then the status of your file of whether it has been uploaded correctly or not.

The extension also adds a Google Drive icon on your Chrome Browser. From this you can send HTML pages and contents that are open in the active tab to Google Drive. All the web pages are saved in PNG format and not in their default format.

Overall, this extension plays very important role for those who wants to directly save this files in the Google Drive. But the only problem is that, when you save any file or document or media file or links it gets directly stored into Google Drive without asking you to store them in which folder.

Install Save to Google Drive extension.

Cheers!!!
