Open/Run .Exe Files On MacOS X
Exe files are used in Windows which are knows as executable files. This types of files are specially compiled for Windows Operating Systems. They will not run on Mac OS X. Also there is no trick or tweak using which we can run .exe files on MacOS X. The main reasons for this that both Windows and Mac uses different codes. But if you have got both this OS installed on your Mac then you can open this files on windows sides and then be accessed via Mac.
But if you don't have both the Windows and Mac installed on your Mac, then to access .exe files on mac you can use an application made by Darwine. This is actually a free way of running .exe files on Mac OS X. Make sure you have Mac OS X11 installed before using Darwine's application.
To check your version go to HD/Application/Utilities.
How to use Darwine:
1. Download and install Darwine from here.
2. Double click on 'Dmg' file and install it on your system.
Now if you want to open any .exe file, right click on it, then select "Open With.." -> Other and select the path "Mac HD/Applications/Utilities/Darwine/WineHelper".
That's it. Now can run any .exe file on your MacOS X.
Download Darwine.
I will try post on how to dual boot Windows and Mac soon.
Cheers!!!
