Gmail Desktop Notifier

Some days back we have seen some posts related to gmail like, saving all gmail attachment to google drive, open gmail when blocked, preview pane in gmail and many more. In all means Gmail is something which we all use. We have many gmail id's and are tend to access all of those. Similarly, to check your mails you have to login everytime in your gmail account. You dont even come to know when you receive any important mail. You will come to know only when you log in and check your mails. Isn't its too time consuming? Yes, it is. There are many options or extensions available in the chrome. But i didn't found it quite interesting.

After googling a lot, i found an application which notifies us whenever new email arrives into our inbox. Mail Notifier is an excellent freeware app which notifies you of new emails from the system tray without having to keep the browser window open all the time.

Lets find out how it works:

1. Download and install Mail Notifier from here.

2. You will see a pop in the system tray once the application is installed.

3. Now click on the Mail Notifier icon in the system tray. You will see a small notification like window of Mail Notifier.

4. To add the account click on the Mail Notifier tab. An Account Center window will open where you will manage all your gmail accounts.
You can add either a Gmail account or a Google Apps account, you can add multiple account to the notifier.

5. Click on the Manage Account tab and fill the text boxes with your gmail credentials with some description and click on Finish.
You can choose the option "Check only New Messages" if you want.

6. Once you click on the finish button, the Mail Notifier will go back to the system tray all will start fetching all your mails.

To configure your Gmail Notifier, right click on your gmail notifier icon in the system tray and select "Preferences". The preferences page allows you to configure the other options available for the notifier including disabling desktop notifications and start up.

Mail Notifier uses secure account management and encrypted connections (HTTPS / SSL) features. Therefore whenever you click on any email it opens in the browser set in the preferences and the users will be sign in automatically when they open Gmail or Google Apps account.
