Change Windows 7 Product Key

Nowadays, Windows 8 has blooming the market. But i have observed that still many of the people rely on Windows 7. Its ok with it.  You must have heard about Windows 7 beta version that was available to download long time back.

Anyways but we can still enjoy Windows 7. Many of know that most of the people downloads the torrent for the Windows 7 and install it on there pc. The very important part played while installing is the product key. The product keys describes the authentication of your windows version. But do you know that you can change your product key in just a click. Its not that tough but its very easy.


Follow the steps below to change the product key of your Windows 7:

1. Click on Start, then look for My Computer.

2. Right click on My Computer and select Properties.

3. The Windows Activation Details page will be pop up.

4. Go at the end where you see your Product Key. Click on "Change Product Key" link.

5. Enter your new product key and click on next to activate it.

There is also another method to change the product key using the Cmd prompt:

1. Open the cmd prompt with admin rights. Click here to see how to open cmd prompt with admin rights.

2. Now type;

"slmgr.vbs -ipk <insert your new product key here>"

3. To activate the windows after changing the key, just run the following command;

"slmgr.vbs -ato"

That's it. Now you can the key whenever and whatever you want.
