Check Your Gmail Statistics
Nowadays, everybody believes in statistics. This statistics can be related to any thing. Like your blog statistics, message statistics or any thing. This can also be a study to learn about application usage analytics and traffic statistics to understand better. Similarly, email statistics is something we are not very aware of.
The email newsletter services providers study all this statistics. But before this feature was not involved in Gmail. But now Gmail Meter has made this possible. Gmail Meter is a special script that can be used to help you understand your GMail usage behaviour, find out who interacted with you most via email, when is the peak time for email traffic and many more.
Lets learn how to use this feature:
1. Login to your Gmail account and open Google docs.
2. First we need to create a new spreadsheet file. Click Create and select Spreadsheet.
3. Click on Untitled Spreadsheet to change its name.
4. Now rename the title to Gmail Meter and click OK.
5. Now after renaming the sheet, click on Tools and select Script Gallery.
6. Then search for "Gmail Meter". When the results appear, click on the Install button, then click Close.
7. A popup will be displayed, asking for Authorization, click on the "Authorize" button.
8. Again a window will be displayed asking for your permission to allow access to Gmail Meter, click on the "Grant Access" button.
9. Once you grant the access, a new item added to the menu bar.
10. Now go to Gmail Meter and select Get A Report.
11. Now you will be given two options, select between a Monthly Report or a Custom Report.
If you click on Monthly Report, you will be displayed a popup that "Gmail Meter is working on your report and you will receive an email as soon as it is ready". Just wait till you receive the mail.
Similarly, If you select Custom report, Gmail Meter script will prompt you to enter a specific date. Click on the date box to start select date and hit the Start button.
This will also take some time and will send you the report in your mail.
In a way, this is one the best tool to view your report. This tool has not been known to many of us and also is not that much in use. But once, people comes to know about this, it will give people a new of creating a report not only for Gmail but also for other reports. Hope so :)
