Remove Live Security Platinum Virus
This is something very important. Some days back while i was surfing a virus entered into my PC. The worst thing is that it entered when i was working in my office. This means that the antivirus my office is using not fully updated or not the full version. Anyways, the virus that my PC was Live Security Platinum.
Live Security Platinum is a rogue antispyware program similar to Smart Fortress 2012, Smart Protection 2012, etc. It is actually installed using trojan. The rogue then starts detecting false infections and displays numerous fake security warnings. This is make you thin that your computer is affected by trojan or viruses and you will need to buy the full version of this fake Security Platinum antivirus. Remember, its fake! This fake security program will start to scan your computer and reports a lot of various infections that will not be fixed unless you first purchase the software. Just ignore this scan results, its fake. None of them exists on your computer.
Steps to remove this Live Security Platinum Virus:
As soon as your PC gets infected with this virus, you will see continuous pop-ups saying that your PC is infected and you need to buy the full version of Live Security Platinum antivirus. I know this will irritate you. To stop this pop-ups you can use this serial code to get registered and stop that pop-ups, for a while.

Note: By getting registered, it doesn't means that you have removed the virus, instead it will just stop the fake alerts so that you’ll be able to complete our removal guide more easily.
As you PC gets affected, you are not able to open any executable files (.exe's). Due to which you cant even run your antivirus. Mine antivirus was affected with this. Don't panic just follow the steps below;
1. To begin with, reboot your infected PC.
2. As your computer begins to boot, press the F8 key continuously. An screen will appear which says, "Advance Boot Option" or "Windows Advance Option Menu".
3. Using you arrow keys select the "Safe Mode with Networking" and press the 'Enter' button.
4. You will now be in Safe Mode with networking.
5. Now start Internet Explorer and go to Tool -> Internet Option.
6. From the Internet Option window select Connection tab and click on LAN Settings.
7. Uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
This should remove the malicious proxy server and allow you to use the internet again.
8. Now download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free from this link.

9. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the setup process.
10. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will now start and you’ll be prompted to start a trial period , please select ‘Decline‘ as we just want to use the on-demand scanner.
11. On the Scanner tab, select Perform full scan and then click on the Scan button to start scanning your computer.
12. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware will now start scanning your computer for Live Security Platinum malicious files as shown below.
13. When the scan is finished a message box will appear, click OK to continue.
14. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware will now start removing the malicious files.
After completing this task it will display a message stating that it needs to reboot, please allow this request and then let your PC boot in Normal mode.
For those who are not yet affected:
There are chances that you can be the next victim. So to be more secure. Install the Malwarebytes in your pc and after you reboot only on Safe Mode (Not Safe Mode with Networking) just run the malwarebytes to remove the virus.
Manual Removal of Live Security Platinum:
You can also remove this virus manually once you reboot it in Safe Mode.

- Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure you leave both the Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware options checked.
- Then click on the Finish button. If Malwarebytes prompts you to reboot, please do not do so.
10. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will now start and you’ll be prompted to start a trial period , please select ‘Decline‘ as we just want to use the on-demand scanner.

Note: Try the manual steps only if you are a pro in registry and knows all the in and out about it. Also don't forget to take backup of your registry before trying the above manual steps. Any wrong modifications to the Windows registry can lead to permanent or partial system crash.
