What Is Elevated Command Prompt And How To Use It

Windows 8 has already been launched and is been used widely. It is well known for its interface and its security. But Windows 7 was also created keeping the security in mind. Specially its, User Account Control feature. Due to which Windows 7 is launched under restricted mode to prevent user from performing task which is against user rights and permissions.

Such feature is very useful by normal users. But for tech freak and geeks this features brings lots of problem. Specially when you want to install some software or anything on your windows 7 and them you are prompted with the message "This Setup Must be Launched from an Elevated Command Prompt". Sometimes many normal command prompts also dont work and gives some access denied error. Therefore, the user needs to launch the command prompt with full admin rights. This can be mostly used by the Admin people.


Therefore to acces such commands or install something on your windows 7, you need to launch command prompt with full admin rights. The command promt with full admin rights is also known as "Elevated Command".

Follow this steps to launch the Elevated Command Prompt:

1. Click on the Start button and select "All Programs -> Accessories".

2. Here you will see the command prompt icon with name "Cmd". Now right click on cmd and select 'Run With Administrator'.

You can also use the following methods to open the command prompt:

1. Click on Start and type CMD in search bar

2. Now press Ctrl+Shift+Enter

That's it. Now you can install whatever you want with any error messages.
