Tomb Raider The Game
Do you remember the movie Tomb Raider? Yes the one in which the lead role was played by Angelina Jolie. Now you must have remembered it. The long-in-development Tomb Raider movie set to reboot the franchise will follow the direction of today's just-released Tomb Raider game. Its not clear on how the movie will adapt the game's story, but will be based on 21 year-old Lara Croft on her journey to becoming the tough action character we know today. The game is a reboot and does not carry on the storylines established in previous Tomb Raiders. Further Lara Croft's background story will be slightly rewritten to make it more consistent.
Storyline:
The game goes back to the beginnings of Lara Croft and shows her as an inexperienced raider who learns and grows during the adventure awaiting her. Her motivation is not (yet) the same as it was in previous game, as she is thrown into the situation involuntarily. It's a cinematic action adventure game, from the same perspective, although Tomb Raider does seem grittier. The amount of punches, injuries and falls Lara suffers borders on the ridiculous, and you'll have to get used to her cries and screams.
Tomb Raider explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold.
Tomb Raider is a surprisingly gritty game, that mixes the puzzles of old with visceral action sequences, plenty of gore, and a much more human Lara than we've seen before.
Tomb Raider is rated "M" (Mature) for the showing of violence.
The game includes a Multiplayer mode developed by Eidos Montreal, while the game itself is developed by Crystal Dynamics.
Downloadable content is also planned and will be first available exclusively on Xbox 360 with other versions to follow at a later date.
