Backup & Restore Deleted Sticky Notes in Windows 7 & 8

Sticky Notes are something on we can store any important information or data. If you are a frequent user of Windows 7 or 8 you will definitely find this feature very important. Sometimes its very useful to store some imp data like, password, phone number, link of some important website, some good thoughts, some credentials, etc. Its very easy to use. You just need to click ont he '+' button to add new sticky note and pressing the 'x' button removes the stick note. But what if you mistakenly delete some important sticky note? This has happened many times with me. But everytime i ended up in disappointment.

After lots of googling, i found the way to restore and backup the sticky note. Follow the steps below to restore and backup your sticky note.

Backup Your Sticky Notes:

1. Go to following location;

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt.
Note: Make sure the "show hidden/system files" check box is active the Folder Option.

2. Copy the StickyNotes.snt file somewhere on your PC or send it to your personal mail.

Restore:

1. Go to the following location;

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt.

2. Replace the StickyNotes.snt with your backup StickNotes.snt file.

If you have deleted any of the Stick Note, simple open the StickNotes.snt file with Notepad. You will find all the stick notes in the notepad from where you can recover it.

This way you can backup your important sticky notes and can also recover it very easily.
